"Only for the wedding Ike." Babsie replied. "I told you I took the job. I have to go back. Preproduction stuff."
Isaac was not impressed.
"Maybe I should go with you."
"Don't be silly. You've got responsibilities here."
"Most of which are concerned with the Four Amigos. And three of the four members are Tay's kids."
"Ike..."
"I hate being separated from you."
Babsie smiled.
"Yeah, me too."
"We don't need so many people on tour either."
"So I'll take a few more of the kids back with me."
"Hey, I want to spend time with them too!"
She was silent for a moment.
"So, basically what you're saying is that you want to leave Xavier in the hands of Taylor and Rita and for the rest of us to go down to Australia with me."
"Yep."
"You want to leave Xavier with Tay and Rita."
"Yeah..." Isaac replied slowly, trying to get her point.
"Umm, are we talking about the same Xavier here?" Babsie asked. "I mean, you are referring to our son Xavier? The guy who just last week filled one of Esme's barbie dolls with caps and stuck it to a fuse? The same guy who lit the fuse, which made such a loud bang you could hear it echo all over the neighbourhood?"
Isaac tried to keep a straight face. And failed miserably.
"You have to admit, it was pretty damn funny." He snickered. "Especially when Mrs O'Leary turned up..."
"All I'm saying is, I don't think that Tay really wants to be left dealing with Xavier and his... antics. Besides, didn't you promise to teach Xavier guitar while you were touring."
"Oh yeah... See, I've been so preoccupied thinking about how much I'm gonna miss you, I totally forgot."
Babsie wrapped her arms around him.
"Ahh, don't worry gorgeous. Everything will work out. Besides, it's not like we won't meet up in Australia. And the job won't last that long - six months max."
"That's half a year!"
"Yeah, but I'll be back in Tulsa before the baby is due."
"Small consolation." He muttered.
