There was one who caught Taylor's attention. She looked strangely familiar.
"Hi." He said to her.
"Hi." She answered, a little nervous.
"What's your name?"
"Veronica."
"Oh… so, umm, liked the show?"
Veronica, Veronica… nope, didn't ring a bell.
"Sure. It was great. As usual."
"Hey thanks."
"And, ahh, your kids were good too."
"Thanks. I'll be sure to pass that along."
"Which ones were yours?"
"Well, actually three of them. Mike, Sam and Adam."
Veronica nodded.
"Umm, is something wrong? You, umm, it feels like you're, ahh, staring at me."
"Oh, sorry. It just that, you, you remind me of someone and I know who it is, I just can't think of her name…"
Veronica was silent.
"Well, if it helps, I used to go by Meredith."
That rang a bell.
"Meredith?" he repeated. "You're - you're Meredith?"
A smile grew on her face.
"Yeah, I am. I'm so sorry I had to disappear like that, but I… you really, really helped me Taylor. I so appreciated it so much. I really wanted to thank you. See, ahh, I went to the police about my boy - well, my ex-boyfriend - and I ended up on witness protection and I had to sever contact with everyone I ever knew… and well, that included you."
Taylor gaped at what he just heard.
"Whoa… I just… whoa… I don't know what to say… I, uhh…"
"It's ok… really. I wasn't even sure you'd remember me, even if, umm, well, I don't know… it could have been a rumor… about your daughter… umm…"
"Yeah, I have a daughter named Meredith Rose." Taylor smiled. "And yes I was thinking of you when I suggested it to my wife. You'll have to join us later, I'm sure she'd love to get to meet you."
Meredith - oh, well, Veronica - smiled.
"Sure, I'd like that."
