Zac looked up from his computer.
"Huh? Oh hi Hope."
"Hi Daddy." She smiled. "Whatcha doin'?"
"I'm working on a very secret project."
"Ooh. Tell me!"
"Well, if I told you it wouldn't be a very secret project now would it?"
Hope giggled.
"Not even Uncle Ike and Uncle Tay know about it. That's how secret this project is."
"Please tell me? I won't tell anyone else!" she promised.
Hope's blue eyes were wide with delight and Zac couldn't help but think how much she looked like Cassie right then.
"Promise not to tell anyone?" he said.
"Promise!"
"I'm working on a script. For a movie."
"Oh cool! Can I be in it?"
Zac laughed.
"Hey sure. I'll write a part in especially for you."
Hope beamed.
"But remember, don't tell anyone." Zac warned. "No one at all. This is our little secret."
"Ok."
On that Hope bounded out of the room and Zac smiled. Zac knew his daughter well enough to know that she wasn't the type of kid that couldn't keep a secret. In fact, she was the other type of kid. The one that loved the idea of knowing a secret, knowing something no one else did. Just like Cassie.
Thinking of Cassie, Zac fiddled with the wedding ring he still wore on a chain around his neck. Then he let out a sigh and went on with his typing.
It was just an idea that Zac had been messing around with for the last couple of years, and finally he was making a start on actually writing it. Once he had finished writing the script, he had planned on getting together with someone who actually had experience in writing screenplays, and who knows, maybe something would come of it.
