Chapter 95

It was some weeks later, and they had arrived in Australia for a brief weekend. You see, they weren't actually coming to tour for another three weeks, however, Babsie had asked them to come for a very special event.

As soon as they had arrived, instead on unpacking, Isaac had barged into her room.

"You know, it's customary to knock." Babsie commented drolly. "What if I had been getting dressed?"

"I would have enjoyed the view." Isaac retorted immediately. "Now you tell me this, what on earth do you think you're doing getting married?"

Babsie gave him a weird look.

"What's wrong with me getting married?"

"Nothing's wrong with you getting married. But there's definitely something wrong with you marrying an accountant. The fact that you went out on a date with one even once is wrong."

"You're making a fuss about the occupation of my fiance?" Babsie asked incredulously. "Oh gee, Ike. If I didn't know better I'd say you were jealous."

"And not only is this Martin dude -"

"Mitchel."

"Whatever, not only is he an accountant, but you're having a traditional white wedding with all the trimmings."

"And that's bad how?"

"This is you I'm talking to!" Isaac exploded. "You don't do boring stuff like that! You do everything differently. Bizarre even."

"Maybe I am being different. Doing what nobody expects."

"Oh? You like doing what nobody expects huh?"

And on that, Isaac grabbed her by the waist and kissed her. Smack dang on the lips and very passionate too. Babsie was started for a moment, but responded. Then, suddenly, she pushed him away.

"Damn it Ike. I'm getting married tomorrow."

"To someone you don't even like - and don't you dare lie to me. Lie to everyone else, even yourself, but don't lie to me."

Babsie glared at him.

"I don't know why." Isaac said, his voice softening. "I don't know what your reasoning is at all. But I do know that I'm not going to be there tomorrow. I'm not going to watch you do something you'll regret."

"What makes you think I'm going to regret it?"

A crooked smile appeared on his face.

"Because you're marrying a boring old accountant and having a boring old traditional white wedding." He replied, starting to leave the room. "Besides, if you really did love him, you wouldn't have kissed back."
