Chapter 86

Babsie had been pretty badly bashed. Three broken ribs, a sprained wrist, and a mild concussion were of the worst of her injuries. And of course, the usual bruises, cuts and what not. She had to stay in the hospital for a week or so.

And, as she expected, Isaac was taking all the blame.

"It's my fault. If I hadn't yelled at you -"

"Isaac shut up. It's not your fault. I did my fair share of yelling too you know. Besides, it's not as if you rang those jerks up and said 'hey you wanna rape someone?'."

Isaac couldn't help but chuckle.

"Yeah, well, I still feel bad."

"So what else is new? And here we are having the exact same argument." Babsie said, shaking her head in disgust. "Dear, dear me."

"Twinkle twinkle little star." Zoe sang. "How I wonder who you are."

"Who you are?" Taylor repeated, watching his sister on the keyboard.

"Up on top the charts so high. Drummers are my type of guy."

"Zac!"

"Twinkle twinkle little star, don't you dare get a guitar."

Zac burst out laughing as Taylor wagged his finger at him.

"Zac, you're corrupting our sister."

"And how do you know she didn't make that up herself?"

"One, she's four years old. Two, it's exactly the type of thing you would do."

"So what if she's four? I was helping you guys write songs when I was six. And Ike was eight when he wrote his first song. And just because something's my style doesn't mean it can be Zoes' as well. Like said, she is our sister." Zac argued cheekily.

"There's a big difference between 'Rain' and 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'." Taylor retorted. "And no one is like you Zac. You are most definitely one-of-a-kind. Thank goodness."

Zac grinned.

"Yeah, ok, I admit it. I taught Zoe that." He admitted. "But she sure picked it up quickly. Maybe we will have a sib joining the band."

"Hey, maybe we should get her to play a little solo in one of the songs." Taylor laughed.

"Didn't someone do that?" Zac asked suddenly. "I think there was a song where some guy got his kid to play something... umm, but I can't think of the song or the artist. I don't remember."

"Ike might know. Or Babsie." Taylor suggested. "What do you think? Do you think we should do that?"

"Get Zoe to play a solo in one of our songs? Yeah, sure. If she's wants to. It'll be fun."

"Just not that stupid version of 'Twinkle Twinkle' ok?"

Zac laughed.

"Yeah, I don't think Ike would think that thing about the guitar much." He joked.
