At their fantastic New Years party, they had once again pulled out the 'exploding stuff', as Zac so affectionately put it.
"Yahoo!"
"Oh, we've done this before I'm sure." Dennis commented dryly.
"De ja vu?" joked Taylor.
"Oh gee, Tay, whatever makes you say that?" Isaac asked with a grin.
Zac poked his tongue out at them.
"Kabam!"
"Is this normal?" Cassie asked. "I mean, for a sixteen year old guy to scream at things exploding?"
"Cassie, this is Zac you're talking about. It's normal for Zac. It isn't necessarily normal for everyone else though." Isaac replied, still grinning.
"Kaboom!"
A little later that evening they managed to calm Zac down (ha!) enough (that's more like it) to actually have a conversation that did not consist of yelling 'yahoo', 'kabam', 'kaboom' or whatever else. Of course, that might have something to do with the fact that they stopped blowing up stuff... nah.
"Five."
Yeah, instead of yelling 'kabam' he wall yelling the countdown. Typical.
"Four... Three... Two... One. Whoo hoo!"
Ok, so he let one loose. Oh well.
Naturally, Taylor kissed Rita. Zoe kissed Isaac and Zac reached for the nearest girl - which just so happened to be Cassie. It was only intended to be a brief kiss on the cheek...
Never in his life had Zac ever experienced such passion in kissing. He wondered where it was all coming from. And more importantly, why Cassie? Yet here they were, lips locked together like there was no tomorrow. And considering tomorrow was only 24 hours away... hmm, what does that tell you?
Suddenly, Cassie pulled away from him, her fingers on her lips. She stared at him like a wounded animal, then ran from the room. Zac looked after her for a moment, trying to figure out what had just happened, then he ran after her.
"Cassie!" he called.
He ran out the door, and saw her sitting on a chair and staring into space. Zac sat down next to her. Cassie looked at him and they sat there gazing in each others eyes for what seemed like hours, only it was merely seconds.
Then they kissed again.
