"Oh c'mon baby, you know you want to."
"No, I don't Logan. Stop it ok?"
"Cassie?" Zac asked himself.
He turned the corner, and sure enough, there she was. Cassie was being pinned up against the wall by some muscular guy. The guy (presumably Logan) had his back turned to Zac. Zac took advantage of this, to tap in on the shoulder.
"Who are you?" he demanded, turning around. 'Leave me and my woman -"
But Logan never got the chance to finish his sentence - Zac's fist was practically in his mouth.
"I think you should leave her alone." Zac informed him.
Logan threw a swing at him and the next few minutes he and Zac were in a full out fight. Cassie found it hard to follow, but soon Logan was running off, leaving Zac panting. Zac looked at her.
"So, why is it you always manage to date jerks?" he asked, attempting to make a joke.
"Thank you." Cassie replied, ignoring his comment.
Zac shrugged and massaged his arm.
"Are you hurt?" she asked.
"Hurt? Yeah, maybe, but I think your boyfriends worse off." Zac answered, pointing to the ground.
Cassie looked. Blood, and a tooth?
"I'm not bleeding." He added. "And since it's fresh it's gotta be him right?"
Cassie smiled.
"Thanks again." She said, sitting down and putting her hands over her face.
Zac sat down next to her and put his arm around her.
"Hey, are you ok?"
"Yeah, I'll be fine. It's just..."
Cassie burst into tears. Zac sat there, not quite knowing what to do. So, he just let her cry into his shoulder.
"Hey, uhh, what's wrong?"
Cassie didn't answer for a long time. Of course, that was probably because she was too preoccupied crying.
"You're right Zac. I always date jerks."
Zac rubbed her back.
"Why do I attract jerks Zac? Why? What's wrong with me?"
"Nothing is wrong with you."
"There must be."
"There isn't." Zac insisted. "Don't worry, you'll find someone. And if anyone ever gives you any trouble, you just tell me ok?"
They sat there in silence for a moment - Cassie still crying. Then Zac started singing something her never thought he would sing specifically for her. He sang 'I will come to you'.
