Chapter 4

None the less, Isaac was grateful for Zac's interference. He was right after all, Ike wouldn't have gotten the nerve before they left otherwise.

And here he was, the night of the long-awaited date, and he was a nervous wreck. He somehow managed to dress appropriately and drive to Alanna's house without realising what he was doing.

"Oh, ok." He said to himself. "I can do this."

Isaac got out of the car and walked nervously up to the door. Then it took him two minutes just to knock. It opened almost immediately.

"Yeah?" asked a big burly bloke.

"Is Alanna here, Jake?" Ike asked.

"Yeah, just a sec."

Ike stood there while Alanna's huge brother went off to find her. She was taking so long (or at least it felt like it) that Ike was seriously considering leaving . Just as he was turning, Alanna showed up.

"Sorry Ike." She appologised.

"Hey, that's ok." He replied, leading her to his car.

"So, where are we going?" Alanna asked once they were inside.

Now Ike was beginning to feel less nerve-wracked. A silly grin crossed his face.

"Well, I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you."

Alanna raised an eyebrow, then giggled.

"C'mon, seriously."

"Ohh, but that'll spoil the surprise."

She giggled again.

"Ok, surprise me Romeo."

So maybe dinner at Pizza Hut isn't wuit as romantic as Ike really wanted, but that was beside the point. And Alanna seemed to appreciate the gesture. The ever-so-wonderful meal was mainly filled with Ike being completely goofy one second (and not short of the occasional movie quote) and totally romantic and charming the next. Just as Alanna was beginning to think this night with this wonderful man was over, Ike shocked her with a surprise visit to a look out.

"Wow, it's beautiful." Alanna said, gazing out at the view.

"Not as beautiful as you." Ike answered.

'Uhh, where'd that come from?' he asked himself as Alanna blushed slightly.

"Thanks." She replied softly, turning her head to look up at him.

And for the next five minutes or so they just seemed to stare into each others' eyes. Alanna lifted her hand to move his hair out of his face and Ike, overcome with, well, what you could call love (or what others might call hormones), bent down and kissed her. A long passionate kiss.

When they finally pulled apart, Ike, being Ike, took the opportunity to make a corny joke:

"And now I'm going to sweep you off your feet." He announced.

On that note, he picked her up, whirled her around and finally carried Alanna to the car while she was giggling all the way.
