A strange look flickered on his sisters' face.
"Oh, nothing really. Just a umm, accident."
"With what? A baseball bat?"
Jess giggled.
"Something like that." And on that she hurried up to her room.
Zac raised an eyebrow as he watched her.
'Crazy girl. Hey, since when does Jess play baseball?' But he had no further time to ponder this as Isaac came in looking for him
"Hey Zac, c'mon! We're waiting for you."
Zac followed him to where all the instruments and Taylor were waiting.
"Ooh, look who decided to join us." Taylor teased. "Glad you could make it."
Zac just grinned.
"As I was saying to Ike, you know that part, umm the 'runaway run' part?"
"Yeah, what about it?"
"I think we could mesh it with that other part we wrote the other day."
"Which one? We wrote a few -"
Taylor gave him a look.
"You know, the one we just wrote and had - oh ok we had a few of those. It's the 'feel every thought that your thinking' part."
"Oh."
"I think it could work." Isaac said thoughtfully. "But it's gonna take a lot of work to make it work."
"I'm with Ike." Zac agreed.
"Ok, well, lets get going then."
And so the meshing began.
**********
"Yep, I like it." Taylor said a couple of hours later after listening to the recording.
"I think that's ones definitely gonna end up on the album." Isaac added, nodding. "But lets hope they like the demo as much as we do."
"Ahh, yeah, that would be the catch huh?" Zac said with a grin.
"No worries." Isaac said. "Even if it doesn't we can still play it on tour."
Taylor and Zac nodded their agreement.
"So, what are we gonna work on now?" Taylor asked.
"Umm, what about that ballad -"
"Oh, you and your ballads!" Zac exclaimed. "You really hate those things don't you."
Isaac poked his tongue out.
"You're just mad because you can't do them justice."
"I wouldn't want to. You can't head-bang to ballads."
"Isn't that the point?" Taylor asked with a laugh. "C'mon, I think it's a good idea. We need at least one ballad on the album - just for the Ike fans."
Isaac grinned.
"Yeah, baby, gotta look after me fans, yeah, baby, yeah."
"Oook... Ike? No more Austin Powers movies for you."
He just laughed in return.
