Chapter 11

"It's another surprise party isn't it?" Isaac asked.

Alanna raised an eyebrow.

"What makes you say that?"

"Because whenever we're home someone tries to throw me a surprise party."

She laughed.

"Seriously! In fact, people even try to throw me surprise parties on tour."

"I take it you're never surprised."

"Nooooo. The best surprise party would be one where someone actually attempted NOT to surprise me."

Alanna laughed again. Isaac loved making her laugh. It was such a pretty one, like music.

Just as Isaac had suspected, they drove up to her house and opened the door only to have a whole bunch of people jump out in from of him yelling 'surprise'.

"Oh! You made me jump!" He said in mock-surprise. "No, really, I'm so surprised."

Taylor rolled his eyes.

"Ok, ok. We know. We just figured u might figure that we might forget to throw one -"

"Ha."

Taylor just grinned.

"So, are we gonna stand around talking or are we gonna do sumthin'?" Zac demanded.

"Zac, quit stuffin' your face." Mark said.

"Hey man, no one else is eating the chips."

Mark reached over and grabbed a handful.

"There is now."

"Hello? Party time? Does this term mean nothing to you?" Taylor asked.

"Of course it does! Food, drink and silly games. Speaking of which..." Zac got a devilish expression on his face. "How about a friendly game of 'truth or dare'?"

"Like there's such thing as a friendly game of 'truth or dare'." Jade sneered.

"Shut up Jade." Peta said.

"Let's not started fighting again." Dennis said.

"Ok, so are we playing 'truth or dare'?" Cassie asked.

They all looked at Isaac.

"Hey, why you're looking at me?"

"It's your party sweetie." Alanna said.

"Umm, sure, we can do that." Isaac replied, a similar devilish expression crossing his face (it must run in the family). "I'll go first. Mark, truth or dare?"

The dares and the truths bounced around for awhile. I suppose the most memorable was when Zac dared Peta to pash Taylor (and he was not short of dirty glares for that one) for five minutes.

Sometime later, they finally got around to eating the cake.

"So Ikey-poos," Zac said, putting on a reporters' voice "now that you're finally eighteen you can vote, smoke and uhh... grope."

Everyone stared giggling as Zac continued.

"How does it feel?"

Isaac gave him a grin.

"Thanks for summing it up Zac. I'll be sure to remember it while I'm voting and smoking, but hopefully not when I'm groping." He replied chuckling. "I'm not sure I'd like your face to pop into my mind then."

Zac pulled a face like he had just eaten a sour lemon.

"I wouldn't want that to happen either. Eww."

They all laughed.
