Xavier walked into the hotel room. Electra was sitting on the edge of the bed, staring in front of her. She was holding little Zed, but Xavier could tell she wasn't thinking about what she was doing.
"Electra?" he asked curiously.
She turned her head slowly.
"Oh, hey," she murmured.
"Something wrong?"
"Mmm… not exactly."
"So it's something neutral, then…"
"Mmm… yes, no, depends on your perspective, I suppose."
"Okay then! From what perspective will I have to be looking at it from to be good news?"
Electra had to smile at that. She considered the question.
"I suppose you would have to be looking at it from the perspective of wanting to be a dad again."
"I see. Okay, now you tell me what the news is, and I'll look at it from the perspective of wanting to be a dad again."
She giggled.
"Well, I was just being silly, and I discovered a pregnancy test in the bathroom. So I took it just for the heck of it -"
"Isn't that an odd reason to take a pregnancy test?"
"I am married to you, y'know."
"Good point. So you took the pregnancy test, and?"
"It's positive."
"Hmm, yes, yes, I can see how looking at it from the perspective of wanting to be a dad again would make that good news. Did you want to see a real doctor to make sure? Mum likes to do that."
"It wouldn't hurt," she then shook her head. "Although, I've been considering the matter since then and, well, it would explain a few things."
"Like what?"
"Let's just put it down to biology and leave it at that."
"Y'know, I know most guys don't like talking about -"
"You've got ten sisters, it doesn't bother you, and besides look at who your mother is. I've heard this story before."
"Yeah, well, you always avoid the subject. Maybe you're just not comfortable talking about it with me. I certainly don't care when anyone talks about female anatomy with me."
"That's because you're incapable of the word 'stereotypical'."
"And that's why you love me."
"No, it's not. But it is a contributing factor."
Xavier laughed.
"Tell me, has anything ever embarrassed you?"
"Nope."
"You were the only one to embarrass your mum," Electra considered this and turned to Zed, "Are you going to be the one to embarrass your daddy, Zed?"
"Nah, it'll be Zirc," Xavier joked.
"You'll get yours, one day," Electra warned. "Everyone gets embarrassed at least once, especially those who claim not to get embarrassed."
