"You know what I think?" Taylor asked Isaac.
"You think?"
"Very funny."
"I know."
Taylor rolled his eyes. Isaac grinned.
"What do you think?"
"Y'know, you may have more children than Zac and I, but we're going to have more grandchildren."
"Really? My twenty against your thirteen?"
"Yes."
"You're sure of this? Let's face it, if they all have even just two children each, I beat you."
"Ahh yes, well, some will have more than others."
"Well I... let's see..." Isaac did some quick maths. "You have nine. Zac, four. Jess had three and Sarah, one. That's... twenty."
"Oh man... that means you have as many kids as the rest of us put together!"
Isaac wiggled his eyebrows.
"Not for long, Sarah's pregnant again."
Taylor nodded.
"I know. So, what are you getting at Ike? You think you're going to have more grandchildren than all of us?"
"Absolutely. And, what's more, I'm gonna have more great grandchildren than you."
Silence.
"Let's not compete over great grandchildren just yet," Taylor said finally. "My first grandchild was only born yesterday.
"Ahh, yes. When you're right, you're right," Isaac readily agreed. "Oh man... Taylor, we're grandfathers. Grandfathers!"
"Now I know how Mom and Dad must have felt.
"We're old fogies now Tay. Soon we'll be living in retirement homes and playing lawn bowls."
"Ike, you're only 43. We haven't gotten to that point just yet."
"Yet," Isaac repeated.
"I don't see how you can worry about getting old when you're married to Babsie. Man, she looks more like 33 than 43."
"She does, doesn't she?" Isaac smiled. "And she doesn't care how old she looks! Hmm. Hey how are Mike, Verity and their little boy? Have they decided on a name yet?"
"They're all great. His name is Taylor Brett."
"Brett. A nice name."
"Yes. Nice. Friendly. Not one weird thing about it."
"And that's just the way you like it, huh?"
"Yes."
"Boring."
"I think your living with so many crazy people is rotting your brain."
"I think you've gotten dull and boring in your old age... Miss Jordan."
Taylor groaned.
"After all these years, must that continue?"
"Yes. It must. Definitely."
Taylor sighed.
"Y'know Morgan and Zac have been conspiring against me."
"How so?"
"They want me to let them make a movie out of one."
"You have been pestered for awhile about movie rights. Perhaps it would be better for your further identity concealment if you agreed to let them do it. I'm sure Morgan will do her best to give your book justice."
Taylor hesitated.
"I don't know..."
"I expect you'll want to work with Morgan. It'll give you a chance to spend some time together."
"Yes..." Taylor paused, considering this. "I'll think about it some more."
"Good."
