Chapter 48

“I don’t like making all these extra performances,” Zoe said nervously as she walked down the hall with Sarah and Bobby.

“Aww, c’mon, it’ll be fun,” Sarah encouraged.

“I know. But… I hate having to do as many as I already do. The stalker -”

“You can’t live your life in fear,” Bobby advised.

Zoe, Dinomight and Mutant Girls were going to do a combined tour today as they were all in the same place at the same time.

“Oh, I know that Bobby, but still… it’s another opportunity for him to -”

“To do what? I think he’s all bark and no bite,” Sarah commented. “All he’s ever done is sent a few messages and rung you a few times. Big deal.”

Zoe looked reluctant.

“Oh drat,” she said suddenly. “I forgot my water. I’d better go get it.”

“We’ll come with you,” Sarah said.

“Okay,” Zoe didn’t bother to hide her relief.

They turned and headed back to Zoe’s dressing room. When they got there, Zoe opened up the door and stepped in.

“Felix? What are you doing in my dressing room?”

The roadie snarled and lunged towards Zoe, who stood there confused and stunned. Bobby moved between them. Felix hit her hard with his body, but Bobby easily stood the force. There was a tussle between them and Bobby managed to grab the back of his shirt as he shoved her into the wall.

Bobby punched him repeatedly in his stomach, rolling the back of his shirt up in such a way to make it awkward for him to straighten up. Felix’s arms wrapped around her legs, tripping her up onto her back, and he landing on top of her.

Felix yelped as Bobby elbowed him in the head with her one free arm. She bit his cheek and he fell to one side, freeing her legs and her other arm. Bobby then pinned him to the ground, sitting quite calmly on his stomach, her knees on his wrists and her feet a little too close to his groin for his comfort. Bobby put her hands on his collarbones. He struggled for a moment, but she silenced him easily with a jab from her foot at his groin and putting pressure on his neck in a choking fashion.

“Dude before you get into a fight again, I suggest you learn how. And no, your sister is not a good teacher. I know you’ve been taking lessons from her but - ”

Felix spat in her face.

“See what I mean? If that’s the best you can do…” Bobby trailed off with an ‘I am so disappointed in you’ tone to her voice and looked up at Zoe and Sarah. “Yo, are we going to get anyone to pick this baby up? I do have a concert to perform in you know.”

“I’m calling security,” Sarah said.

“How… how…” was all Zoe could get out.

“How’d I learn to fight? Hey, that’s what I get from growing up with my dad, uncle, four brothers, two male cousins and not another girl in sight,” Bobby grinned at her then turned back to Felix. “Hey who are you anyway, wussy-boots?”

Felix said nothing.

“He’s one of my roadies,” Zoe answered for him, looking upset. “All this time… one of my roadies…”

Zoe burst into tears, but they were tears of shock and relief.
