Chapter 3

Taylor joined in the applause as his sons and nephew bounded off stage. Mike wiped the sweat from his forehead with his sleeve.

"Whoo hoo!" he exulted. "That was great."

Adam, the resident drummer, grabbed the nearest bottle of water, opened it and tipped it over himself.

"Ahh."

"Umm, Adam, this possibly isn't the best place to have a shower," Taylor commented.

"Sorry Dad."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, can we get going please?" Xavier asked. "I wanna see Electra!"

"Aww, Xavie's going to meet his girlfriend," Sam teased.

"You're just jealous."

"I want to meet her too," Storm spoke up. "I think she's got awesome hair."

"But not more awesome than ours," Rogue added with a grin, then she wrinkled up her nose. "PU! You guys stink!"

"They're teenage guys, what do you expect?"

"Hey, I don't remember you two smelling like roses when you got off stage," Mike defended.

"That's because you were overwhelmed with your own stink even then," Xavier joked.

"Hey, who's side are you on?"

"The side where I get to tell the most lame jokes. Now, if you don't all hurry up, I'm gonna go to the meet and greet by myself."

"Yeah?" Adam asked. "Then what? Give Electra a big smoochy kiss in front of all the fans?"

"Please, Adam, don't give him ideas," Sam said.

"Actually, I already thought of that," Xavier grinned.

"Y'know... I once did that..." Taylor mused. "When I first met Rita face to face, we were in the Masters Club, and I just walked right up to her and kissed her."

"Aww, that's so sweet..." Rogue crooned.

"Yeah, and then Babsie spoiled the moment by reminding us we were in a public place."

Xavier, Rogue and Storm laughed and gave each other high fives. Mike, Sam and Adam saw this and shook their head sadly.

"They're a sorry sight," Mike said.

"Very sorry," Sam agreed.

"And so are you! You can't face the fact that I have a gorgeous, sexy, beautiful, smart, funny, and in every other way magnificent girlfriend and you can't even get an ugly woman."

"Ooh," Adam hissed with a grin. "You wanna make something of that?"

"No. I don't wanna get my hair mussed before I meet her."

"Aww, Xavie doesn't want to get his hair mussed," Sam teased.

"Guys, guys, the fans are starting to move in there," Taylor spoke up. "Hurry up and change so you can go meet them. You don't want to keep them waiting."

There was little talking as they guys changed and then headed to the meet and greet. Xavier knew her the moment her set eyes on her, the firey-haired girl with the sweet smile. Xavier felt like he was melting.

Nonetheless, for the benefit of the fans, they pretended they had never met before, which, in a way, they hadn't.

"Hi, to whom are you speaking?" he joked.

"Umm, Xavier?"

"Drat, you know that joke."

She laughed.

"I'm Connie."

Xavier was good and managed to talk to other fans, but as soon as they all left, he went right back to her and asked:

"Electra?"

"Closethedoor?"

Xavier grinned and then next thing anyone knew, he kissed her.

"It felt so good to finally do that," he smiled.

"I agree," Electra smiled back, her arms around his neck.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah" came Adam. "Knock off the mush Xavier."

"Don't mind him. He's just jealous," Xavier said to Electra.

Electra grinned.
