"Yep, I can do that."
They tried the few bars again.
"Nope, it still doesn't go right." Isaac frowned.
"Lyrics?" Taylor suggested.
"We've only rewritten them thirty million times." Zac cut in. "It's the music itself. Something's missing."
"Argh, this is so frustrating!"
"Calm down Ike, we'll get there."
"Yeah, ok, ok. Let's try this again."
A couple of minutes later...
"It's still not working!" Isaac exploded.
"Ike, calm down." Taylor said. "Why don't we drop it for today and get back to it some other time?"
"Yeah ok."
"Why don't we work on -" Zac began.
"Umm, guys?" Rita said, walking into the studio.
"Yeah Rita?" Taylor asked.
"Umm, you guys know Peta?"
"Who's Peta?" Isaac asked.
"We used to be home schooled with her." Zac told him.
"Oh."
"What about Peta?" Taylor asked.
"Well, you know how she went to college to become a marine biologist?"
"Yeah..."
"I just heard on the radio," Rita looked like she was going to cry. "The, the college she went to, oh man..."
Taylor walked over and put his arm around her shoulders.
"What? What happened?"
"There was... an accident." Rita choked out. "A huge explosion went off in one of the science labs. The explosion destroyed most the building and fire burnt out half the campus."
They stared at her in shock.
"Is, is Peta ok?" Zac asked.
"I, I don't know. Babsie's trying to find out now. But, but, they do know that a lot of people have died. There were thirteen classes going on at the time and now they're all dead."
Rita started full-out crying now, and Taylor enveloped her in his arms. Her tears soaked her shirt.
