While they were at the station, a young woman joined them as they waited.
"Hello guys. I'm Joanna Davis." She said, with a sidelong glance at Zac. "I'm one of the DJ's you'll be talking to this morning."
"Cool." Taylor said. "So Jo, can I call you Jo? Good. How long have you been a DJ for? You don't look like, umm..."
Jo grinned.
"I hope not! I'm only eighteen." She giggled. "My dad's the manager of the station."
"Ahh. Ok. I thought you were about that."
As it happened, Zac and Jo were left in the room alone together. Zac caught her studying him.
"What?" he asked. "Have I got a bit of breakfast in my teeth or something?"
"You don't remember me do you?"
"Why should I remember you?"
"We only dated for a couple of years."
"We did?" Zac asked, a little confused.
"Yeah. You always sent such sweet letters, until your last one..."
Realisation hit Zac then.
"Uh oh... umm..."
"Umm what?"
He wondered if he should tell her about how he had sent the same letter to 47 other girls as well.
"Umm, nothing. No, I don't remember you, just umm, so much has changed since then. It has been a few years."
"Yeah, I suppose."
There was an awkward silence. Fortunately it was quickly interrupted by Taylor and Isaac rejoining them.
"So, are we going on the air or not?" Isaac asked.
Jo glanced at her watch.
"Ooh, yeah, c'mon guys."
She stood up and led the way into the studio.
