Chapter 71

"House of insanity," Isaac said as he picked up the phone.

Mackie laughed.

"One of those days, huh?"

"Like you wouldn't believe."

"Say, umm, I was wondering if you could do me a huge favour."

"Sure. What is it?"

"I need to borrow some money. I've asked Zac, and he agreed to if I could get either you or Taylor to help me out too, and well, Tay's on tour at the moment."

"What do you need the money for?"

"Well, see, the place where we're living right now, it's getting a bit small, and then there's the rent... Sandy doesn't have a job because she's busy taking care of Steve. So we figure we could, well, start again, kinda thing. We were thinking of moving into Mom and Dad's 'old' house, and I was planning on starting a recording studio somewhere nearby."

"Ah ha!"

"We're already starting on my savings too, see."

"Ouch."

"Exactly. And there's more. We were thinking about starting a music magazine. I mean, Sandy's done all that studying at collage, it would be terrible to think it was all a waste."

"Of course. I understand completely. A music mag, huh? Sounds like a great idea. Babs would love it."

"So... is that a yes?"

"It's a yes on the condition that you keep me up to date on everything financial that goes on until you repay me."

"You mean it?"

"Of course. What else are brothers for?"

"You mean, other than tormenting each other?"

Isaac laughed.

"Yeah, exactly."

"Umm, there's some more..."

"Oh?"

"Sandy's pregnant."

"Hey congrats! You know, Kel and Rita are preggers too."

"Yeah, I heard."

"Y'know once Babs, Mom and Cassie were preggers at the same time. There was Matt, Duke and Cosmo… Duane and Yassie."

"I wish they were still alive."

"Me too."

"Sometimes I wonder what they would be doing if they were still alive today. Especially Yassie. Do you suppose she would have gone into music too?"

"Maybe. The only one of us kids that doesn't play, sing or write music is Jess." "What about Avie?"

"Oh no, she's written music. Heh, Zac's been trying to con her into recording an album with us for years, but the only thing she's done CD wise is a soundtrack for the sitcom she was in when she was in Australia."

"That's right. I'd forgotten."

"So, when you coming to Tulsa?"

"When things have been sorted out here. Thanks again man."

"You're very welcome."
