Chapter 68

"Zac?" Taylor asked later. "What do you know about this Jesse Trewin?"

"He's a good guy, Tay. Lives in the next street. Usually pretty busy with the movies and stuff, but he takes good care of his sister when he's available. Why?"

"I'm just a little concerned about Morgan having his e-mail address."

"This might come as a huge shock to you, but LA and Tulsa are a long way away from each other."

"Ha ha."

"All jokes aside, I don't think you have anything to worry about Morgan becoming friends with him," Zac gave him a rueful grin. "I know, I checked him out myself when Sarah dated him for awhile."

"Sarah dated him?"

"Yeah. It was only two times or something. Never anything serious though, but they're good friends. Heh, he's got the coolest number plate?"

"Oh?"

"It's B A A B A A. Baa baa."

Taylor stared.

"I don't get it."

"It's a black jeep."

Taylor blinked. Zac groaned.

"Baa baa black jeep," he sang.

"Oh!" Taylor laughed. "Hey, that's clever."

"No, what's clever is Sarah's parody."

"What parody?"

"Ahem: Baa baa black jeep, have you any fuel? Yes sir, yes sir, three tanks full. One from the master and one from the dame, and one from the little boy who lives down the lane."

Taylor laughed.

"Look, man, Jesse's a cool guy," Zac informed him. "A little engrossed in those movies of his, but otherwise a cool guy."

"Hmm..."

"Besides," Zac went on, "he and Morgan just met and they live in different parts of the country. What could possibly happen?"

"I could think of a few things. And she's only fourteen. How old is Jesse?"

"Seventeen. And you're blowing this way out of proportion man. All he did was give her him e-mail address."

"I seem to remember what you did when you gave girls e-mail addresses."

"Aww, c'mon man, I was a kid."

"Yeah, and me and Ike told you that you'd regret it. We told you, and I can name at least two days in your life where you regretted it. When you tried to convince Cassie to go out with you and when Kelsey found out just recently."

The two walked into the backyard where everyone was gathered for the party.

"And yet you managed to write a best selling book in which one of the characters did the exact same thing, Miss Jordan."

"Oh, shut up."

Zac grinned at him as he heard the music playing.

"Hey Ike! Turn it up!" he said, then turned to Taylor. "May I have the pleasure of this first dance, Miss Jordan?"

"No, you may not."

"Hmm, well, I'm sorry but you're talking to someone who doesn't talk no for an answer," Zac grinned, and grabbed Taylor's hand and put the other around his waist, while pulling him onto the grass.

"Zac..." Taylor complained.

Isaac started recording them on the video camera. Zac continued to whirl an uncomfortable Taylor around the yard with everyone watching in either amusement or gleefulness and many laughing.

"Oh you dance divinely, Miss Jordan," Zac teased.

Taylor pulled a face at him and continued to try and get out of Zac's strong grip. As the song came to an end, Zac dipped Taylor over his knee and leaned his face close to Taylor's. Just as everyone thought they would meet, Zac 'accidentally' dropped Taylor onto the grass. The kids laughed.

"Oh I'm so sorry, Miss Jordan," Zac said mockingly.

Taylor just glared at him (all the while trying not to smile) as he got up.
