"I suppose."
"You saw a movie right? What one was it?"
"The new Jesse Trewin one, 'Say it, don't spray it'. It was so funny and he is so hot," Morgan gave a giggle.
"So, is she a good kisser?"
"What?"
"Is this Frankie a good kisser?"
"I... I don't know!" Morgan replied, flustered. "It was my first kiss... what do I have to compare it to? Why do you want to know?"
"Because I don't want us to have the same relationship that I had with my Mum when I was your age. In fact, if it weren't for your Uncle Isaac, we still wouldn't be speaking. And all because my parents didn't want me to marry Taylor. I don't want to push you away just because I may not like who you choose to have a relationship with," Rita answered, putting her arm around Morgan's shoulders. "As much as I would prefer talking about boys, if you want to talk about girls... well, so be it."
Morgan stared at her. Suddenly she burst into tears.
"Mum, I'm so confused! She's my friend and I don't... but I do... and I..."
"Oh sweetie, you just don't know how you feel about Frankie, do you?"
Morgan shook her head.
"Okay, honey, was there any point during your date that you felt uncomfortable, or light as a feather, or what?"
Morgan nodded.
"Tell me."
"Well," she sniffed. "She held my hand during the movie."
"And?"
"I felt kinda weird."
"Weird in what way?"
"I don't know. Freaking out kinda weird I guess. And I kinda felt the same way when she kissed me."
"I see. You said... Jill and Boris talked you into it."
Morgan nodded.
"Now, if Frankie had asked you out, to your face, what do you think you would have said?"
"I don't know. No, I guess."
Rita smiled.
"Honey... may I make a suggestion? Why don't you try hanging out with some other people and start dating some boys your age. Dating is confusing enough as it is without bringing in members of the same sex."
Morgan nodded and used a tissue to blow her nose and wipe away the tears.
"Thank you," she sniffed.
"That's okay, honey. You take some time to sort out your own feelings and don't worry about Duane - or the triplets - I'll make sure that they stop teasing you."
