"Thanks." Austin replied.
"And don't worry," he continued with a grin, "I'm going to keep you out of a potentially awkward situation and not ask you where Jess' room is."
Austin grinned back.
"I'm not." Zac cut in. "I want to know. Where is Jess' room?"
"Down the hall, first room on the left."
"And, no, you're not going in." Jess interjected quickly.
"Why not?" Zac asked with a knowing sparkle in his eyes.
"Because it's my room. Duh."
"Guys? Shut up." Isaac cut in. "It's no big secret Jess and Austin are gonna share a room. It's a two-bedroom apartment and Marie is getting the smallest one."
Jess and Austins' eyes meet, and Jess stared giggling.
"That be right Ike. Take all the fun out of it." Zac grumbled. "I was having fun teasing them."
"Yeah, well, do everyone a favour and refrain from mentioning to Mom and Dad there's only two bedrooms." Taylor put in. "They'd hit the roof."
"Well, you never know, they might assume that Marie and Jess are sharing a room." Babsie pointed out.
"Yeah, right."
"Why aren't you sharing a room with Marie anyway?" Zac asked, jokingly getting that whole 'I-am-your-older-brother-and-I-do-not-like-the-idea-of-you-sharing-a-room-with-your-boyfriend' thing going.
"Have you seen Marie's room?" Rita asked softly. "It's so small."
"Thank you Rita." Jess put in. "Butt out Zac."
Zac grinned.
"Aww, c'mon, I'm suppose to do that over-protective older brother thing."
"Which you've been doing very well every single day of my life. Just drop it Zac."
"Umm, nope."
"I don't see Ike and Tay fussing over me like you do."
"That's because they're being protective and not over-protective."
"Hey, just leave us outta this." Taylor said.
"Besides, you know, we're too busy with our kids to bother about our siblings." Isaac joked.
"Thanks a lot." Jess retorted. "I'm glad to see you care so much."
"You know, this might come as a complete surprise," Babsie said dryly, "but there's more stuff to bring in."
"Oh, yeah." Zac said.
