"Hey Zac. Having a break?"
Zac glanced at her.
"Yeah, I'm, ahh, checking out the competition." He grinned.
"Ooh." Babsie said, plonking down on the lounge next to him. "Cool. Anything interesting?"
Zac pointed at the screen.
"This chick here, a Amy Winton, is 'the latest thing'." He said.
Babsie watched her for a moment, her eyebrow raised.
"Well, you know, the right marketing scheme can do anything." She commented after awhile.
"You don't think she's very good?"
"Oh, well, she can definitely sing, and it's a good song, but something..." Babsie frowned for a moment. "Something's missing."
"You think so?" Zac studied the woman on the screen for a moment. "Yeah, I guess... maybe..."
There was quiet for a moment.
"Passion." Babsie said suddenly. "That's what's missing. There's no passion in her voice."
"Hmph... yeah... but she's still pretty good. Maybe she's just lip syncing right now. Sometimes recordings lose passion."
"Yeah, I suppose..." Babsie didn't sound too convinced.
"Anyway, I guess I'm a little biased, but I think our Felicity is gonna blow her socks off."
He grinned at her.
"Of course!" Babsie agreed cheerfully.
At about that moment, the next video clip came on.
"Oh no, it's the next Spice Girls." Babsie groaned.
Zac grinned at her.
"You really don't like them huh?"
"No. I'm so glad they're over. Or were..." she glared at the screen. "I mean, c'mon! The Sugar Sprites? I bet there's Vanilla, Cinnamon, Snobby, Infant and Roar."
Zac laughed.
"Heck, there's even five of 'em! And how long until Vanilla Sugar decides to leave?"
"Relax Babsie. I'm sure they're not that bad."
"Wanna bet?"
"Sure. How much?"
"I win, you have to ask Kelsey out on a date."
Zac gave her a look.
"I was thinking money."
"And take all the fun out of it? Oh really? You win, I'll show you all the secret passages in the house."
Zac's eyes lit up.
"Ok, you're on."
They shook hands.
