"Jess, I don't know." Walker replied. "For starters, we hardly know Austin."
"But I know him. Please? I'm nineteen years old! Almost twenty. I think I'm well and truly allowed to leave home."
Walker and Diana looked at each other then that Isaac and Babsie, who were trying to hide smiles.
"Well, you are." Diana answered tentatively. "But it's in LA!"
"So? You let Avie stay in Australia for three years."
"We had family and friends in Australia. And she came back and stayed with us for part of each year."
"Well, actually, Babsie and Rita had all the friends and family in Australia. You didn't know any of them all that well."
"We knew them better than we do Austin. And how long have you been dating?" Walker replied.
"Oh, well, only three years." Jess answered sarcastically.
"You know, uhh sorry to interrupt, but Avie does have that audition in LA she wanted to go for." Babsie suddenly pointed out.
"That's right." Isaac agreed.
"We already have that settled. She was going to stay with you while she is doing the audition." Diana pointed out.
"But, what if she gets the part? We won't be there for the entire making of the movie."
"That is so true." Babsie put in.
"If I move in with Austin, Avie could stay with me." Jess said hopefully.
Walker burst out laughing and Diana shook her head in amusement.
"Ok, ok, I know when we're being played." Walker grinned.
"If you're not very happy with the idea, they could always stay in our LA house." Babsie pointed out with a smile.
"And what were you planning on doing in LA anyway Jess?" Diana asked.
"Umm, well, I got accepted for a job in a radio station there. Umm, I just have to let them know if I'm going to take it." Jess paused. "Soon. Like, by the end of the week."
Walker and Diana looked at each other.
"Ok, go on." Walker finally said. "But don't forget to call us. Regularly."
Jess was all smiles.
"Thank you so much!"
She got up and gave them a hug. Then she bounded out of the room. Diana wagged her finger at Isaac and Babsie.
"As for you two..."
But she didn't have to say any more. They got the message.
