The movie that Austin and Avie had both gotten roles in was doing on on-location shoot. During her lunch break, Jess had popped down to see them.
"Hey Austin." She greeted, giving him a brief kiss.
"Hi Jess.
"What's happening?"
"Oh, nothing much actually. You know how I said Gayle Kannan was starring in this movie?"
"Yeah. What about her?"
"She's a spoiled brat."
Jess laughed.
"It's not all the funny. She's wasted the last couple of hours fussing over how she looks and then arguing with the director about the position of the camera."
Austin shook his head in disgust.
"I'm sure it'll work out." Jess assured him, patting his back.
Austin grinned.
"Avie pretty much had enough of her. Gayle keeps making fun of your bros right? It's making Avie go ballistic."
Jess laughed.
Jess had to leave to go back to work a few minutes later. She had gotten part of the way there, when she realised that she had left her bag behind. Naturally, she returned to the shoot to pick it up.
When she arrived, her jaw dropped in shock. Austin was kissing Avie. Very passionately.
Jess could feel the tears begin to well in her eyes. Unable to stay another minute (partly because she did have to get back to work...) she grabbed her bag and ran from the shoot at top speed.
By the time she arrived back at the radio station she was well and truly crying. Fortunately there was no one else to see her (well, except for the DJ, but he was in another room) and she hid in the bathroom to contain herself and wash her face.
Jess just didn't know how to react when Austin and Avie returned home that day. She told them she was tired and went to bed early.
"Jess?" Austin asked.
"Mmm?"
"Is something wrong?"
Jess shrugged, and he laid down next to her.
"Feeling ok?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just a little tired ok?"
Austin was silent. He sighed and stroked her hair.
"Ok. I'll let you sleep. Umm, Avie wants to order pizza. Do you want me to wake you when it arrives?"
"Yeah, whatever."
Austin kissed her cheek and left the room.
