Chapter 8

"Oh what is it Cuddles?" Isaac asked, sounding exasperated.

His pet had been running wildly all over him for the past minute or so. Suddenly, Isaac sat back with Cuddles' fingers stretched over his face. Jess and Avie giggled.

"Cuddles has seen her too." Isaac said suddenly. "When he was trying to find me, he bumped into a 'creature' he calls it that was part human, part something else. He showed me an image of what happened - it had yellow glowing eyes and it was... wearing a cloak. He also saw the same creature... abduct Zac. It had a long tongue."

"That would be her. The Goblin always wears a cloak, it's like her trademark." Trinity answered. "And well, she does have a long tongue. Just like a frogs'."

"Why does she always wear a cloak?" Jess asked.

"She's the type of mutant that can't pass for human. Aside from the yellow eyes, she's got greenish skin."

"Oh."

The doorbell rang.

"My we're busy this morning." Diana commented ruefully. "More of your friends?"

"No, she's not ours." Rocky replied.

They stared at him.

"X-ray vision." He explained as Diana left to open the door.

"We have a friend with that." Taylor commented.

"There are more of you-you?" Oscar asked.

"Mary Anne!" Diana greeted. "How are you?"

Fortunately, there was no way for Zac's girlfriend to see into the lounge room.

"I'm great Diana." Mary Anne replied. "Is Zac here? He was supposed to meet me half an hour ago."

"Zac?" Diana repeated. "I, umm, he..."

She had no idea what to tell her about Zac.

"He's never been late before." Mary Anne added, not seeming to notice. "And it's not really like him to forget."

"And I don't intend to start now." Came Zac's voice from behind Diana.

Diana stared as Zac walked out the door and grinned at Mary Anne.

"Sorry, Ike and Tay and me were having a heated debate."

"Oh really?"

"Yeah. Who's the biggest chick magnet?"

Mary Anne laughed.

"Who won?"

"Me of course." Zac grinned charmingly. "See ya later Mom."

Diana stared in shock as Zac and Mary Anne left. She turned and went back into the lounge room. She must have had a really confused expression on her face because certain people (who shall remain nameless, but you could probably figure out who they were) burst out laughing.

"I'm sorry Mom." Jess giggled. "But the expression on your face..."

"I guess Ike must have done a good job." Walker commented, rather amused.

"That... that was Isaac?" Diana asked.

Taylor grinned.

"Oh yeah. Heh, Zac owes Ike big now. Real big."
