Chapter 16

Zac was asleep, or trying to, when he felt the bed vibrate. At first he ignored it, but then he felt... something... fiddle with the fly of his pants. His eyes shot open and he sat up.

"Damn it!" cursed Gretel. "How do you do that?"

At first Zac was confused, then he realised what she had been talking about. His entire body below his waist was water. And there had been no water nearby to cause it to happen.

He had done it by himself.

"I have Water. Duh."

Gretel glowered at him for a moment. Then she leant towards him.

"C'mon Zac, all I want is a kid to call my own. Just give me that."

"If you want a baby, go find another frog person."

"I don't want another! I want you!"

"Well, you can't have me."

Zac was suddenly inspired to zap her with electricity, but thought better of it. He didn't know how to escape yet and he figured it may work to his advantage if he waited.

"Zac... if you do this for me, I'll let you go home." She said smoothly after a short pause.

Zac didn't answer.

"I know you want to go home. See your family. Your girlfriend, and all your other friends."

"This is blackmail."

"Think about it." And she teleported, leaving behind a photo on the bed.

Zac picked it up as a sleepy Ripples zipped over.

"Who are they?" Ripples asked.

"It's my family." And Zac proceeded to point to the different faces. "That's Ike and Mackie, Jess, Avie, Tay and Zoe. And that's my Mom and Dad."

"Your Mommy and Daddy are still alive?"

"Yeah."

"Me don't 'member my Mommy and Daddy. They dieded when I was just a larva."

Zac looked a little surprised.

"You were a larva?"

"Yep. Weren't you?"

"Of course not."

Ripples looked like he was going to comment when he saw Zac's lower body.

"How do you do that?" he exclaimed.

"My affinity with Water, of course."

"But, but, but I can't do that! I gotta be touching water to turn into water. Ooh you are more powerful than I ever thought!"

Ripples was in awe.
