Chapter 11

"I'm not going to have sex with you." Zac informed Gretel decisively.

"Fine. Then give me some sperm."

"Say what?" Zac exploded.

"Look, kiddo, I have... plans. Plans that involve, well, plans that will be beneficial to me, and all those aligned with me." She paused, as if deciding just how much to tell him. "At the moment, I have a most brilliant scheme - one of many I might add. But this one I have been planning for a long time, and it's only now that I may have found the, uhh, other person I need."

Gretel teleported from the table to right in front of the pool. She was lying down on her stomach.

"Don't you understand Zac? You are one of the most powerful mutants around. Probably the most powerful, if you don't count that freak in Scotland. Don't you realise, with the right woman, your children could be more powerful still?"

"I'm not the most powerful." Zac replied. "What freak in Scotland? And I suppose you think you're the right woman - and I use the term loosely."

Gretel slapped him. However, her skin was moist enough so that when she did, his face turned into water and it didn't hurt him in the slightest. Zac couldn't help but smirk.

"Look, I don't know what exactly you're plotting here, and frankly, I don't care. I only know that you are not going to have my children. Ever."

She got up, glaring down at him.

"There will be plenty of time for you to change your mind." She said. "After all, you won't be going home any time soon. And there's no way to escape - except to, well, join with me. I've taken into account your powers. You can't leave, not by turning into water or into a rat, or trying to take over my mind with your telepathic abilities. Think about what I've said."

And Gretel disappeared, leaving Zac somewhat confused.

"Ooh kissy kissy. Frog-face loooooooves you." came the voice, then there was a brief pause. "Eww guh-ross! Yucky, yucky, yucky."

"Where are you?" Zac asked. "And who are you?"

There was the sound of a slight splashing and the next thing Zac knew there was a tiny little person, no more than three inches tall with the veined, translucent wings of a dragonfly. His eyes (for it was a male) had unusually wide eyes, something that Zac was beginning to get used too, scarily enough.

But on top of all that, the little fellow wasn't wearing much. In fact it was just a little green loincloth.

"I'm Ripples."

Zac couldn't help but laugh.

"Why you laugh?" Ripples demanded. "Are you laughing at da name? No laugh at name! My name is da coolest name in da universal."

"No, no." Zac replied, trying to stifle his laughter. "No, it's just... ahh..."

Zac wasn't too sure how to tell Ripples that it was how he was talking that was making him laugh. That and he had the weirdest name he'd heard in a long time.

"What? What?" Ripples asked.

"Don't worry. Not important."
