Chapter 19

The following morning, Taylor sat next to Rachel's bed where she was still sleeping from the day before. He liked watching her.

"Hey Tay." Isaac said, walking in softly so not to disturb her.

"Hi Ike."

There was quiet for a moment.

"Y'know, we're gonna have to tell her." Isaac said.

"Tell her what?"

"About the house."

"What house?"

"Her house."

"Oh. What about her house?"

"You don't know?"

"No."

"The tornado hit that part of the street pretty bad. Dude, it's the most beautiful pile of rubble you're ever seen."

Taylor gave a small smile.

"I'm telling you man, it is not a pretty sight."

"Just a second ago you were saying it was beautiful." Taylor pointed out.

"Oh, shut up."

"Hmm, guess she'll have to stay here for a while then."

"And I can tell you're so disappointed."

There was quiet again.

"Actually the Mall didn't get hit, so Mom's talking about taking Rach over to get some new clothes for her. After all, the only ones she has left is the ones she arrived here in yesterday."

Taylor nodded. Then a sly grin crossed his face.

"Yes… that's a good point…"

"Uh oh. I've given her boyfriend ideas."

Taylor wiggled his eyebrows at him. Rachel rolled over.

"I guess I'll leave you to your early morning movie then Tay." Isaac said with a smirk.

"Shut up." Taylor answered.

But there was a grin on his face as his brother left.
