"Dunno. I bet Blake's having fun." Taylor grinned.
There was a twinkle in Isaac's eye.
"Oh, man… I was thinking about that Technology power the other day… he is gonna have so much fun with that, I tell you what."
"Actually, Jess got an e-mail from him the other day." Taylor commented with a sly smile.
"Oh? He sends Jess an e-mail, but not us?" Zac asked.
"Jealous Zac?"
Zac poked his tongue out at him.
"So, how did you find out Tay? And more importantly, what did it say?" Isaac inquired with a cheeky expression.
"Well, I spotted her on the computer. I asked her what she was doing. She wouldn't answer, so I -"
"Let loose a probe and read her mind?" Zac asked gleefully.
"No. I dropped my thoughts-block and caught her immediate thoughts. I believe 'go away Taylor' was one." Taylor replied smugly.
"Do you think she figured out what you were doing?" Isaac asked. "Like, with her Empathy?"
"Nah, because I'm empathic too, I can put up a block that stops her from reading me, and vice versa. It really annoys her because she's gotten so used to being able to read everyone all the time."
"You mean, you can lie to her and she'll never know if you have your block up?" Zac questioned.
Taylor nodded.
"Yeah, pretty much."
"Damn! That sucks! Why can't I do that?"
Taylor and Isaac looked at each other.
"Zac… name all the powers you don't want and I'll engrave it on the head of a pin." Taylor said.
"Yeah, talk about being power mad." Isaac added, laughing at his own pun. "I think it's a good thing you've only got the ones you have."
Zac poked his tongue out at him.
"Anyway, back to that e-mail?"
"Oh yeah, well, apparently Blake didn't even need to use the keyboard to type the e-mail. It's like he has total control over computers, TVs, cars, even the toilet. Well, flushing the toilet."
Zac and Isaac laughed.
"He joked that he could probably write the worlds most devastating virus ever created. To the point where only he could devise an, umm, antidote."
"Oh cool!" Zac proclaimed gleefully.
"Anything about James in there? Or didn't you read the whole message?"
"I didn't read it all, but I did get one reference to James. Apparently they've kinda decided that James must have a Level 2 power. Like, they've thought about some things that have happened in the past and such, and they think he has a 'good luck' power."
"Good luck?" Isaac repeated.
"Yeah, weird huh? It was just a theory though."
Isaac and Zac nodded.
"So." Taylor asked, changing the subject. "Who's up for a game of Hide and Seek?"
