Chapter 10

It was well after midday when our friends on Midpoint island woke. They were greeted with a late (and much appreciated) lunch.

"So, what do we do now?" Isaac asked.

The gorilla man - Robin - considered his answer.

"First and foremost, we need to find all the other shipwreckees, and make sure they don't find out about us. Secondly, we need to get them off these islands before human rescue crews arrive. Now, I've already contacted MIA -"

"MIA?" Jo repeated.

"Yes. They're usually responsible for commissioning these colonies."

"I see."

"They've been informed. They'll probably get organised so that they're in charge of the rescue, but we have to be prepared for the humans that will undoubtably be involved. Ideas?"

Everyone looked at Jo.

"Why's everyone looking at me?" she asked.

"Like you even have to ask," Isaac said.

Jo poked her tongue out at him.

"Hey, just because I'm going on Celebrity Who Wants to be a Millionaire doesn't mean I know how to get out of every situation, thank you."

"Why are you going on Who Wants to be a Millionaire?"

"Because I can."

"Isn't that dangerous?"

"Why? Do you think if I win the million dollars people are going to suspect me of having super powers? Besides, I can't remember what I never learned, you know. It is possible for me not to win the million dollars."

"Theoretically."

"Actually there's a 37% chance I won't win the million dollars."

"You worked it out?"

"My brain is always working this stuff out, whether I want it to or not. Been watching all these episodes of it and I remember what questions I get the answers to," Jo replied. "And from there -"

"I don't need a detailed explanation of how you figured it out."

Jo grinned.

"You know if we just keep the humans isolated, we shouldn't have any problems with them finding out," Carla said. "I mean, you guys keep watch over your island all the time. If you just keep doing that and make sure they don't contact any of us, it'll be all good. In fact, maybe we should make contact, we being Ike, Jo, Rach and myself I mean. Oh, and Tay..."

"Now there's an idea. You can make sure they don't find out anything," Robin said, nodding. "And we can keep an eye out for the rescuers. MIA will be doing their bit to make sure their humans don't find out anything. Okay, this will work."

"Great idea, Carla," Isaac said.

"Thanks."

Isaac turned back to Jo.

"Why didn't you think of anything?"

Jo sat back in her seat and looked at him with a smile on her face.

"I like to procrastinate," was all she would say about the matter.
