At the same time, Zac's out burst had caught the leader off guard, and so Jo took the opportunity to land a few well aimed blows to his wrist, shoulder, neck, stomach and of course the groin which any girl in her position would have done.
Meanwhile, thanks to Taylor, the rest of the henchmen were getting rather nervous. Some of them were shaking enough so that (with help from Isaac) their guns fell to the floor and skidded a few feet away.
Of course, others were holding onto their guns for dear life. They were the dangerous ones.
It was actually pretty good timing, what happened between the leader and Jo. Afterwards everyone figured that the gang was simply unnerved about their boss being unarmed and beaten by 'a little girl from Australia'.
In future interviews Jo would inevitably make jokes about learning such things from wrestling two crocodiles each morning before breakfast, having to catch her pet kangaroo in order to get to school and other such ridiculous ideas.
But back to the present.
Security - and the police - was busy, attempting to round up all the unarmed foes and trying to get to the armed ones.
And strange as it may seem, the cameras were still rolling. Imagine that, a studio hijacking all done live on TV! (It was no wonder afterwards that many thought it was just a publicity stunt)
Mary Kate and Ashley were attempting to calm the audience down and, uhh, revive the show. Which was interesting considering the twins were close to pants-wetting themselves.
And somehow, it the great huge mess of it all, there was one. One panicking, armed man in a corner near the stage, pointing the gun at whatever moved.
"Jo? Jo are you ok?" Zac asked, getting up from his seat and heading towards her.
"Zac!" Isaac cried.
He jumped towards his brother, for he had seen the maniac aiming the gun at Zac.
So had Taylor
And Isaac had seen the flash of the gun and heard the bang.
Just before Isaac attempted to push Zac out of the way (and he kind of cheated, he was using his force fields to make sure the bullet would miss) Taylor let loose a probe. Actually, he still had the one he had sent to Jo out, so he didn't have to create a new one. At any rate, not knowing what Isaac was doing (or at least not comprehending it), Taylor sent the probe to the shooter.
The probe penetrated the man's mind faster, so much faster than Taylor had done before. Taylor hardly knew what he was doing until he had done it…
Isaac's force field managed to deflect the bullet just enough so that no one could question that it was a near miss - which it was.
The shooter, well, he was lying on the floor.
Motionless.
