"Yes Zac?"
"Can you do me a favour?"
"What?"
Zac leant over and whispered in her ear. Jess and Taylor instantly grew suspicious as they could feel gleeful mischief radiating off Zac like a nuclear warhead.
Carla gave Zac a weird look and a nod, then he whispered some more. There was an amused smile on her face.
There was some more suspicion when Carla picked up another scrap of paper and turned her back to them. Taylor knew she must be using her Rearrange Atoms power because his Deep Telepathy had identified a telepathic trait to it.
As he had grown stronger in this strange monitoring ability, he had discovered that there were a few powers with telepathic traits. Telekinesis and Teleportation had the strongest (other than Telepathy of course - but that is all telepathic). Jess' Healing and Dreams and James' Enhance did too. And of course, Carla's Rearrange Atoms did. Perhaps the more surprising was that Isaac's Force Fields did, even when he was projecting a normal force field not designed to keep out power with telepathic traits.
Carla gave Zac whatever it was she had turned the paper into. Zac walked over to Taylor and said:
"So, Tay, I don't know if you remember the party we went to recently. Y'know, the one where we met Jo?"
"Yeah, I remember. What about it?"
"Well, I kinda feel bad telling Mandy what I did to get you away from her and then not going through with it."
Taylor stared at Zac.
"Oh no." he said.
"Oh yes." Zac answered.
And on that, Zac revealed the avocado dip and smashed it into Taylor's face. When he pulled his hand away, Taylor looked at him, with all green goop all over him face.
Zac grinned cheekily and laughed.
"You do realise what this means now don't you?" Taylor asked.
"What does it mean Taylor?"
"War."
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah!"
"Well, I think I might just wash all that dip off." And on that, Zac sent a steam of water to Taylor's face.
Sure, all the dip came off… but Taylor's face was completed soaked, not to mention his hair and his clothes.
"Zac, Zac, Zac." Taylor said. "You can't fight with an Empath. Especially when a lot of people in the room are rather amused. Hmm, I wonder if I projected all their amusement onto you huh?"
Zac started laughing. He laughed and laughed and laughed until he was rolling on the floor, clutching his stomach and the tears were coming.
"Ok, ok, stop! Stop!" Zac laughed. "Stop!"
Have you ever noticed that laugher is contagious? Everyone started laughing at Zac laughing, and of course, Taylor was still projecting so, you get the picture. Zac just kept laughing. He just couldn't stop.
