But there was nothing.
Well, maybe not quite nothing…
"Hey Daz, look who it is." Sneered a guy on a skateboard.
"Oh, two little Hanson girlies." Daz replied.
Isaac and Taylor ignored them.
"Hey Taylor, would you go out with me? No on second thoughts, don't. I could never date a cross-dresser."
Taylor just rolled his eyes.
Daz and his mate seemed to be a little annoyed at getting no response. They started picking up rocks and throwing them.
"Eat dirt girlies."
"C'mon Tay, let's -"
"Ahh!" yelped Daz's friend.
It was the weirdest thing. The rocks that the two had been throwing at Isaac and Taylor were… coming back! In fact, the seemed to be ricocheting back just before they touched Isaac.
As the two boys started running off, ("hey those Hanson girlies were throwing rocks at us!"), Isaac started turning into liquid again. His and Taylor's head were being flooded with thoughts and images from each other. Taylor felt strong emotion emanating from all over the place; shock from the two boys, amazement and worry and fear from Isaac… it was overwhelming.
Whatever it was that was happening was going on for much longer that it had the first two times. Isaac was now liquid up to his chest and still melting. Taylor was kneeling on the ground, holding his head in his hands, trying to block everything out.
"Taylor!" Isaac yelled, both verbally and telepathically.
Taylor was too overwhelmed to respond.
"Ahh!" he cried out.
"Taylor!" Isaac yelled again.
He was down to his neck.
"Tayl-"
He was now completely liquid. Taylor managed to contain himself long enough to lean over.
"I-I-Ike?"
Taylor reached over a shaky hand and tried to touch Isaac. But, but he couldn't, like there was a force field or something.
Then, suddenly, it was all over. The images and thought and emotions left. Isaac returned to him human shape. The brothers looked at each other, shaking.
"What, what the heck happened?" Taylor asked breathlessly.
"I, I, I don't know." Isaac replied. "Do, do you think we should tell anyone?"
They looked at each other. They didn't need telepathy to know the answer was 'no'.
