"Huh? Oh, hi Ike." Zac said.
Zac had been looking intently at his watch.
"Whatcha doing?" Isaac repeated.
"Looking at the time."
"I noticed that. I also noticed you've been doing it for a while. The seconds aren't going to go any faster just because you're watching them."
"I know that. I just, I wanna make sure…" Zac trailed off.
"Make sure about what?"
Zac paused.
"Ike, today is the day in the other two time lines that time reversed and we went back to the start of the loop."
"Oh."
"I just… I want to make sure… I don't want to repeat this part of time again y'know?"
"Yeah, I can understand that. Get a bit boring for you I imagine."
"Maybe a little, but it's more that, well, I wanna get on with my life y'know? I mean, I know we're having a break, but I've been having a break from music that's three times longer than yours."
Isaac grinned.
"I see, so you're watching the minutes, making sure we tick into uncharted territory."
"Yes. That's exactly what I'm doing. Besides, I hate being the only one who remembers what happened the other two time lines in this place. I want to get on with my life."
Isaac nodded.
"Zac? I know you don't want to talk about it, because we, umm, made you promise not to tell us, but is there… I can't help but be curious."
Zac was silent.
"You know Ike? I've often wondered how much this time line differs from the one that was meant to be. I know we were never meant to find our powers, that much is obvious. So, what would have happened?"
"I couldn't say."
"All I can tell you Ike, is that I hope I never have a problem with time again. It's too confusing. And some things are best not known."
Isaac was silent and Zac went back to watching his watch.
"Five… four… three… two… one…"
A smile grew on Zac's face. Isaac looked at him.
"The loop is broken." He said happily.
