"Yeah Zac."
"You... umm, ok, Mary Anne and I wanna go out on a date."
"Funny about that. Y'know, considering you're boyfriend and girlfriend."
"Yeah but see there's this girl that just moved in the neighbourhood that Mary Anne's made friends with and she hasn't really gotten to meet many people. Basically Mary Anne doesn't want to go out if it means that her friend is by herself, y'know."
Taylor gave his brother a look.
"I have a bad feeling I know where this is headed."
"Look, all I want is for you to come with us, kinda like a double date y'know? And it's not like you're dating anyone at the moment. Please?"
Taylor groaned.
"Please Tay?"
"Does this friend of Mary Anne's have a name?"
"Zella."
"Zella?" Taylor repeated.
"Yeah. C'mon Tay! It's just one little date. If you don't like her you don't have to see her again. Please?"
Taylor sighed.
"I don't know Zac, you know how I feel about blind dates."
"Tay, have you ever actually been on a blind date?"
"Well, no -"
"Then how do you know how you feel about them?"
Taylor didn't answer.
"C'mon Tay! I'll be your best friend." He joked.
"Zac, you and Ike already are."
"Umm, yes, well, that's beside the point. Umm, if you don't I'll, I'll, I'll zap you!"
"Uh huh, yeah, sure."
"I will! I'll make your hair stand on end. Maybe I'll even make it fall out!" Zac grinned. "I even know how to do that - umm, I think... I won't know unless I try it though."
A mischievous expression crossed Zac's face.
"You wouldn't dare."
"Try me."
"Look, Zac, can't you ask someone else? Why me?"
"Because you're a dateless loser. Even Ike can have a girlfriend longer than you."
"Excuse me? He has not been dating Carla longer than I dated Rachel."
"Really? It sure feels like it."
"Does, doesn't it?" Taylor replied ruefully.
Then he sighed.
"Oh, ok, ok. I'm probably going to regret this, but, ok, I'll go out with what's-her-name."
"Zella. Whoo hoo! Thank you Taylor! I'm gonna go call Mary Anne."
Taylor had to smile as his brother bounded off.
