Chapter 19

"Ahh!" Avie squealed.

Zac fell into rolls of laughter.

"Well, that was very rude, drenching me with water like that."

Zac just kept on laughing. Avie glared at him for a moment, then opened her mouth...

"Ouch!" Zac yelped.

Zac was now getting hit with little bits of ice.

"Ha ha." Avie said, before going back to breathing out ice.

"Dems fighting words!" Zac declared.

On that he started spraying her, and so began one of their water/ice wars. Everything was going, uhh, normally.

Except for one little detail:

Because Avie had only mastered creating water-ice (as opposed to other kinds of ice), that was the type of ice she was using. And of course, the ice would hit Zac, and end up melting on him.

And, as we all know, Zac had been having problems with his body turning into water when water touched it...

"Oh my gosh! Zac!" Avie yelped.

She skidded next to her brother... now a perfect ice statue.

"Zac!" she wailed. "Oh no, what have I done?"

"Avie?" Taylor called. "Avie what's - oh my gosh!"

Taylor stared.

"I didn't mean it." Avie cried, wrapping her arms around her brother.

"It's ok. It's ok." Taylor assured her.

"No it's not! It's not ok!"

Taylor felt a little helpless for a moment as his sister cried into his shirt.

"It's ok Avie, he's alive."

Avie sniffed.

"How do you know that?"

"Empathy. If he were... if he wasn't alive I would feel his empathic signature."

"Oh."

"C'mon. I'll find Ike and get him to move Zac to the bath. Why don't you go up and put the plug in the bath?"

"Ok."

*Ike? Need ya help with something.* Taylor shouted with his mind.

Then he remembered that Isaac was out. He tapped his fingers on his leg and left the room to ring Isaac. Taylor hoped that, if he couldn't reach Isaac, that Mackie might be strong enough to move Zac. After all, it wasn't like they could move Zac without telekinesis. First of all, he would be really heavy. Second of all, he didn't know quite how cold Zac was - who knew what damage physical contact might do.
