"Oof!"
"Oh gee, I'm sorry." Taylor said.
Taylor had unwittingly managed to bang into someone. He bent down and started to help her pick up the music paper and books she had dropped.
"That's... that's ok." She replied not looking at him.
"Aerosmith huh? They rock. No pun intended."
Taylor saw her smile.
"Yeah... thanks for helping me."
"No prob."
After having a quick glance at the music books and discovering he already had all the ones he was interested in, Taylor headed to where the harmonicas where kept. It didn't take him long to find the one he was after and he headed to the counter.
The girl he had bumped into was already there and rummaging through her bag. The sales clerk wasn't looking very impressed.
"Can I help you?" the sales clerk asked Taylor.
"Oh, just this thanks." He replied, putting the harmonica on the counter.
While the clerk rung it up, Taylor looked over at the girl.
"Problem?" he asked.
"Oh, it's stupid." She muttered. "I'm two dollars short. I was sure I had it..."
Taylor put the harmonica into his pocket, looked at the girl for a moment, then gave her two dollars.
"There you go." He said simply.
"Oh, oh, thanks." She smiled.
"Ahh, forget it." And on that Taylor left the shop.
Taylor hadn't walked far out of the shop when the girl caught up with him. Or just about. Taylor noticed her hesitate in a reflection out of the corner of his eye. He turned around.
"You wanted something?"
"Oh, umm, ahh... oh never mind."
Taylor grinned.
"I'm Taylor." He said, holding out his hand.
"Uhh... Oh, I'm Rosie."
"Good to meet you. I'm about to have lunch, want to join me?"
"Well, uhh, sure."
