“That will never happen,” Jess declared.

“Maybe not in this universe, but it happened in that one,” Isaac replied.

“Did not!”

“Do you disbelieve the proof before your own eyes.”

“Ha! I know about you and photoshop.”

“But the glossy paper,” Zac pointed out. “Where can we possibly get some that quality?”

“Jess, have you got your empathic block up or down?” Taylor asked sweetly. “Surely you’d be able to tell if we were lying or not.”

“Lemme see! Lemme see!” squealed Ripples and Twinkles, flittering down to have a look.

Twinkles clapped her hands delightedly.

“Ooooh Jessi sexy-wexy,” Ripples declared.

“Tay-Tay look funny,” Twinkles decided.

“What? I do not,” Taylor objected.

The insect people giggled.

“I look like a raging, drumming machine,” Zac observed.

“Drumma o’ raging goodness!” Ripples declared.

“How old were you all?” Diana asked.

“Not sure,” Isaac replied. “Old enough to have teenage kids.”

“Huh,” she said softly, looking at the faces of her children.

Was it her imagination, or did Isaac look younger than his brothers? That sort of thing can happen naturally anyway, right?

Anomalies
