“Well,” he said to himself. “That sucks.”
He stood there in silence for a minute or so.
“Okay, now what do I do?”
He barely got out the word ‘do’ when Tristan reappeared.
“Hi Zac! Sorry you got left behind.”
“Oh, hey Tristan. Got some control now, do you?”
“Yep,” Tristan nodded. “I ended up losing Taylor, and then Ike too along the way. I only just got control. Had a nice dinner with Mum and Dad and my little sisters. Came back here to get you after a good night’s sleep. You haven’t been waiting long have you?”
“Nope. Just a minute or so.”
“Okay good. I’ve discovered these like… I don’t know how to describe them. Threads, I guess. Anyway, it would take too long to explain. I wasn’t sure if I had the time part quite right, but I think I must because I wanted to get here a few minutes after I left. Not too long to leave you here by yourself, but long enough to make sure I didn’t accidentally bump into myself or something.”
“I see.”
“C’mon, we’ll get Taylor next. I need to rescue him from a mod of rabid fans chasing him through a mall.”
Zac blinked, then shrugged.
“Okay,” he agreed.
Tristan put his hand on Zac shoulder and concentrated. He wanted to get there after he had left, but he also needed to figure out where Taylor would be in the differing time.
“Here goes.”
They teleported to about 30 seconds after they had left Taylor behind.
“Where is he?” Zac asked.
A body rammed into the back of him, knocking him over. Tristan chuckled, seeing Taylor having run too fast to stop and careered into them. Before the girls could catch up, Tristan teleported them again to the bedroom where he had left Isaac behind.
“Ahh!” Isaac yelped. “Kindly get off my foot please?”
“Sorry,” said Taylor.
“Hmm,” Tristan said thoughtfully. “I see I’m going to have to work on that.”
“I’m guessing you have control now?” Isaac said.
Tristan nodded, a big grin across his face.
“I’ll take you guys home now. Thanks for being patient with me.”
“No problem.”
