Chapter 8

A few days later, Taylor and Isaac (who had shape shifted into another person) wandered down to the eatery from the studio to stretch their legs and pick up some lunch.

"Really Ike, why do you always do that?"

"Do what?"

"Turn into people when you don't have to."

Isaac gave him a look.

"Look, unlike some people I can mention, I think it's important to exercise my powers."

"Well, of course you would say that. You've actually got useful powers."

"Y'know Tay, I don't think your powers are nearly as useless as you seem to think they are."

"Whatever. I have to go to the bathroom. Be back in a sec."

Isaac sighed. While he waited, a pretty young girl wandered over to him.

"Hey there cutie." She flirted.

"Hey."

Ahh, Isaac liked this. She wasn't flirting with him because he was Isaac Hanson. Heck, she didn't even know he was who he was, after all, he didn't look a thing like himself just then.

"I'm Jackie."

"Is - I'm…" Isaac frantically searched for a name. "John."

'Oh gee good one Ike.' He thought to himself. 'What a boring name.'

Meanwhile, Taylor had made it to the toilets. There was a dark-haired guy around Zac's age who looked like he was waiting impatiently for someone. But Taylor wasn't going to drop his empathic or telepathic blocks to find out if he was right. Why bother?

Still, from the moment he entered the toilets, Taylor felt as if something was trying to get into his head. It was pounding against his telepathic block. Had he not been a Deep telepath, he probably wouldn't have felt a thing, but his telepathic block was particularly sensitive.

At any rate, Taylor went about his business. You probably don't really want to know the details. And if you do, what kind of a sick mind do you have?

Just as he was heading over to the sink to wash his hands, he felt other hands turn him around…

Taylor barely had to think, for the next thing he knew some huge middle aged guy's lips were on his. Then two things happened:

First of all, Taylor sent one of his probes into the man's mind and found some rather sensitive part of his brain he could attack to knock the guy out or something. Just as Taylor as doing this, the other guy - the one about Zac's age, remember him? Well, he came over, grabbed the middle aged guy and practically threw him against the wall.

Taylor stared, whipping his probe back out. He looked at the man, and then at the guy who had helped him.

"Oops, ahh, sometimes I don't know my own strength." The guy said. "You ok?"

"Umm, ahh, yeah, I'm -"

Taylor took that moment to throw up violently.
