It was that night and everyone had gathered around the table for dinner. The girls were telling everyone about their experience at the shopping centre.
"Yeah, it was so weird!" Jess exclaimed.
"I tried doing it again. Didn't work." Avie said.
"Well, y'know, like we said, it was like our powers increased by a hundred."
Zac whistled appreciatively.
"What about the other things?" Taylor asked. "Have you tried doing them again?"
"Well, I did try making my eyes glow… nope." Avie answered. "And I can't make any piece of ice that small. At least not yet anyway."
"And obviously, I haven't been able to sense anyone's inner emotions or injuries." Jess finished.
"So, now what?" Zac asked.
Silence.
"Well, we don't know why, or how." Isaac said. "I say, let's not worry too much about it until we get more information."
"Yeah, who knows, maybe this is a once off thing." Taylor added.
"Yeah, could be." Jess agreed, but uncertainly.
**********
A few days later the guys were taking some time off to go surfing.
As it is with the beach, they ended up separating from each other, but that was ok. Zac to this day still hasn't figured out how it happened (not that he actually cares) but somehow he and some surfer chick crashed into each other.
"Watch where ya going twerp." She snapped.
Zac looked around him, trying to find the 'twerp'.
"Oh, you're talking to me."
"No duh."
"You must be mistaking me for someone else. I'm not a twerp."
"Could have fooled me."
"And it appears I did. Don't worry, we all make mistakes."
The girl stared at him.
"Moron."
"Where?" Zac asked cheekily.
This was a great game!
