Chapter 12

There is nothing that can capture the awesome feelings at a concert, although Taylor once claimed that he could probably get the same feeling from delving into one of Isaac's concert memories (there no way Zac would let Taylor into his head). Of course, a memory is not at all the same as feeling it then and there, the real, live thing.

And after the concert, they guys headed to a meet and greet. Rachel had never been to one before and was interested in what happened. However, because she was in the same age group as most of the other people who would be there, they figured it would probably be better if she didn't go.

Well, at least not physically. Taylor was going to send her a live broadcast of what was going on.

However, some way through the meet and greet, Taylor had the vague feeling that Rachel was upset. Vague because she was out of his empathic range and there's only so much you can get through a telepathic link, even if you do have Deep Telepathy.

*Rach? Is something wrong?* he asked.

*Why would anything be wrong?*

*I don't know - but you sound a little upset.*

*Uhh, I do? Oh, I have to go, Mackie and Zoe have started fighting.*

Rachel left before Taylor could reply. He resisted the urge to send a probe into her head and find out exactly what it was.

Rachel stopped Mackie and Zoe from fighting any more, warning them that they'd better not continue arguing telepathically either. This done, she sat near the window so that she could look out of it and keep an eye on the kids too.

A tear seeped from her eye and she wiped it away angrily.

"Oh, stop it Rach." She told herself.

Taylor had been his usual self - flirting with the girls. Rachel knew he didn't mean anything by it, but still, a lot of the girls were flirting heavily back.

And then there was the thought that, once it had popped into her mind, she couldn't get it out:

Why did she love Taylor?

Oh sure, probably many people have asked themselves that about their significant other. But it wasn't the same. After all, how many of them knew that their partner had some strange Attraction power?

Was it possible that the only reason she loved Taylor was because of this? What if he never had it, would she still feel this way about him?

"You do realise that the second he come back he's going to know you're upset?" Rachel said to herself. "I really want to know how you're gonna hide this one from him."

She sighed and stared out the window, not really looking at the scenery. Not that there was much scenery to look at and admire.

*Ra-ach! Mackie keeps calling my flames stupid!* Zoe complained.

*Mackie! Zoe! What did I tell you about not fighting? I believe that included telepathically.*

*Sorry.*
