“Good morning people,” Trinity greeted, taking off her sunglasses.
“Hey Trinity! I had a feeling we’d hear from you,” Taylor grinned. “Oh, Angela, this is our friend Trinity, Trinity, this is Angela.”
“Good to meet you, Angela.”
Angela smiled nervously.
“So, how are the wings?”
“You know?” Angela asked nervously.
“I’m the Hanson’s Mutant liaison. If you want, we can meet some others. I have a friend – Oscar – who has wings too. Of course, we’ll have to wait until late to talk to him – he’s part owl.”
Angela stared.
“Like, like Ripples and Twinkles are part insect?”
“So you’ve met them already?”
“They’re the ones who did her hair this morning,” Jess spoke up. “They did mine too. You like?”
“Ooh! Yeah, I like a lot. Wow, I didn’t know insect people were so talented.”
“Well, they are.”
“I like your eyes. I haven’t seen orange contacts before,” Angela said.
“They aren’t contacts,” Trinity replied. “My eyes change colour with my mood.”
“Like a mood ring?”
“Yeah.”
“That’s so cool.”
“I like them too.”
“I should probably go home and change before we got out though. I’m still wearing what I wore yesterday.”
“A good idea,” Trinity smiled. “I can drive you after you’ve eaten if you want.”
Angela glanced at Diana.
“Go ahead. We’ll look after your room.”
When Angela did finish eating breakfast, she went up to her room to get what things she had. Her wings all this time were getting crushed under her shirt, and she had been using a bandage to keep them down.
“I think you best not check her room out just yet,” Trinity cautioned Diana while Angela was gone, “if her father is the werewolf we’re after, it may be prudent to have somewhere else to go in emergency.”
Diana nodded thoughtfully.
