Jess was first.
"Ahh!" she stiffened a bit after getting zapped.
Then, it began. She felt herself being flooded with, with, with emotions…
"Jess? Jess? What is it?" Taylor asked, kneeling down in front of her.
"So, so, so much… emotion…" she whimpered.
Taylor took her hands in his.
"Don't worry ok Jess? That's what happened to me when I, when my power were triggered. You can block them ok? Just think about having a shield or something blocking the way ok?"
Jess nodded and a few moments later she nodded, obviously a little shaken.
"It'll be fun Jess I promise." Taylor assured her. "I'll show ya all the tricks I know. It'll be great."
Jess managed a smile.
"Ready Avie?" Zac asked.
"No." Avie answered, looking at Jess nervously.
"Don't worry, it'll be a cinch." Isaac said.
Avie hesitated, then nodded. Zac zapped her.
There was silence for a moment. There was nothing. No flood of emotions or thoughts or images, and she didn't revert to some liquid state that would mean she was a shape shifter too. Avie let out a sigh of relief, then put her hand to her mouth in surprise.
"What is it?" Taylor asked.
"My, my breath… I swear it was cold."
The guys looked at each other.
"Cold?" Zac repeated. "How cold?"
"Really cold."
Avie put her hand to her month and breathed on it, then held it out to the others. Isaac whistled appreciatively.
"There's steam coming off that." He said, carefully putting his hand a few inches above hers. "Whoa baby, no one touch that hand. It's freezing. I bet you'll be burnt if ya touch it."
He gave her a look of amazement.
"See?" Avie said, which a partial smile. "I told you it was cold."
