"So what the heck do we do?" Jess exploded.
The four were up in the guy's bedroom again.
"Sit and wait like good little kiddies." Isaac replied with a cheeky grin.
Jess gave him a look.
"C'mon Ike! We have these powers! We should use them to rescue Zac, Mackie and Zoe."
"One problem with that plan Jess. We're confined to the house." Taylor pointed out.
"Oh, as if we couldn't get out if we wanted to." Jess snapped.
"C'mon please?" Avie cut in. "Let's not fight."
"Yeah, no fighting." Isaac agreed. "Ok Jess, hypothetically speaking, let's say we can get out of the house. How do we find them? They could be anywhere."
Jess was silent.
"You're teasing me." She accused.
"No, I'm not. I'm quite serious."
There was silence.
"What about your Telepathy?" Avie spoke up. "You said Mackie and Zoe were telepathic too…"
"Yeah they are, but they haven't been triggered. And even if they were we would have to be within their telepathic range in order to receive any messages." Taylor answered.
Of course, at the same time he was wondering if that was entirely true, remembering his current problem with getting random thoughts from people.
"Oh."
"Do you think Zac would trigger them?" Jess asked.
Isaac and Taylor looked at each other.
"No, I don't think so." Isaac said at last. "He'd only do that if it was an extreme emergency."
"Yeah." Taylor agreed. "I think Zac would probably try to find an escape without using his powers, and if he can't he'll try and figure out how he can get out using his powers. He's rather protective about people not finding out about us having powers."
"Yeah, I noticed." Avie said, remembering the 'lecture' he had given them the day her powers had been triggered.
"Ok, so what powers do we have?" Jess asked. "I don't think Healing is going to help. Or Dreams - I don't know enough about my ability in that."
"But Empathy…" Taylor's eye lit up. "Jess, you probably don't know yet, because you've only had you're powers for a day, and it took me a while before I figured it out, but everyone has like an empathic signature."
"Really?"
"Yep. It's kinda complicated, but I have two empathic ranges ok? The first range is the immediate area. It never changes and that is the range I can feel people's emotions and identify their signature." Taylor explained. "The second range it a lot wider, and it can grow. When my block is down, I can pin point the position of anyone within that range whose signature I've identified."
